Classic Homemade Brownies

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Bake Time: 40-45 minutes
Total Time: 55 minutes
Servings: 12-18 brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, melted

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2/3 cups unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • Optional: 1/2-1 cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
Preheat to 350°F and grease or line an 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. Mix Wet Ingredients
In a bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Stir in eggs and vanilla until smooth.

  3. Add Dry Ingredients
Mix in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined.

  4. Add Extras (Optional)
Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.

  5. Bake
Pour batter into pan and spread evenly. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  6. Cool & Serve
Let cool before cutting for clean slices.

Tips

  • For fudgier brownies, bake closer to 40 minutes.

  • For cakier brownies, bake a few minutes longer.

  • Don’t overmix the batter—this keeps them soft and tender.

Rich, chocolatey, and easy to make—perfect for any sweet craving!
